Frequently Asked Questions

How do I start a Care Program in my parish?

  • In most cases you will need a small group of people who are interested in setting up and co-ordinating a Care Program. Catholic Outreach can provide assistance by explaining how Care Programs operate and training Co-Ordinators and Volunteers. You will also need approval from your Parish Priest to set up a Care Program.

How do I become a volunteer?

  • To become a volunteer of the Care Program in your Parish contact the Co-Ordinator (usually listed in the parish bulletin) or speak to the Parish Priest who will put you in touch with a Co-Ordinator.

What do I do if I'm offered money?

  • If you are offered money for a service explain to the person that the work is provided on a voluntary basis. If the client persists thank them for the donation and give it to the Co-Ordinator who asked you to do the job.

How do I get help?

  • If you are in need of help please contact the Co-Ordinator listed in the parish bulletin or the parish office.
